I wonder if there is a way to "Reset" Avatar to initial state?

Did you have any luck? The same thing has happened to me, from a freebie compact after I detached it. I've read the other threads related to the same problem, and all focus on locating the missing object. Well, this object isn't lost, it was in my inventory. However, I did delete it before I read the other threads on it). I've obtained another copy, but still no luck. I contacted the owner/creator of the script, and she thinks it's using an old script that is no longer supported.

Well, it was still spamming my chat when I logged on after I got home from work today. "Nora - Compact Accessory (wear me): Unknown animation state "" (There was a quote mark at the end, which I suspect was the source of the script error, but I couldn't edit the script.)
However, I got rid of the chat spam from the object by muting it just like you would ignore a player who was spamming you with chat. If there are a lot of orphan objects/scripts running around in infinite loops like this, it's a waste of resources.

That is a message that can be printed by the Franimation AO script. It will send an IM with that if llGetAnimation returns an unexpected value and debug (inside the script, not an SL setting) has been turned on.
You might try forcing SL to crash to see if that will trigger the IM again, so email can capture it. IM emails should contain the location of the object (will have to unmute though :/)
[ ETA: should note that there are several flavors of this script around. Some use llOwnerSay (yellow text) and others use llInstantMessage (green). The green flavor is the one you might be able to capture in email. ]

Thanks, but the object was never lost. I eventually deleted it, but that didn't stop the spam. I just found out that it's been spamming my e-mail, so I blocked it. If I can find an option in SL to stop spamming my e-mail (it filled my in-box space with my ISP), I'll turn that off too, but so far no luck.

The object is almost certainly out there, either an extra of a copiable or left behind as a duplicate in one of the ongoing inventory disasters. If the messages survive a sim restart then it's really there and not a ghost, and the right thing to do would be to unmute the thing and retrieve it using the coordinates from the mail.

You were right, Viktoria. The object is (no copy)(no modify), so some glitch must have occurred in order to be both on the ground AND in my inventory. The e-mail spam was the key to finding it and retrieving it. It included the following message: The object 'Nora - Compact Accessory (wear me)' has sent you a message from Second Life: Unknown animation state '' = Nora - Compact Accessory (wear me) is owned by Liralyn Lyle = http://slurl.com/secondlife/Skin%20City/103/172/563Clicking on the above link took me to a website that gave me the option to "Visit this location" which then launched Second Life. Once I connected, I was given a teleport option. I teleported into the zone, but not near the object. However, it was indicated by red markings. I followed those, and the object was there. I picked it up, and the goofiness immediately quit (my character performed the animation associated with the script once I logged in, even after all this time, and all my attempts to stop animations, deleting the object from inventory, muting it, etc.) If this happens to someone else who doesn't receive e-mail when IM-ed (Instant Messaged), I was given instructions on how to stop the e-mail spam, so presumably, you can reverse these instructions to receive the e-mail: "To stop receiving these emails, log in to Second Life and uncheck "Send IM to Email" in the General tab of the Preferences window or visit:" (it gave a URL, which I assume is specific to my account). Thank you very much, Viktoria! This stuff is very hard for us newbs/casual players!

Hmm, just checked the above instructions, and they are incorrect. Oh, well, if this problem does happen to you and you aren't receiving e-mail spam, then ask around to find out how to receive e-mail when IM-ed. :/
