Loading Sims stupidly slow: 18-30kb/s??

I have a fiber optic connection, capable of 20 down easily (EASILY). Typically due to you know, the internet, it usually maxes out around 3 megs down a sec.

Anyway, whenever I visit most sims, I am getting only a paltry 15-30kb/s download. Why does stuff load so slow for me?

It should be chuggin' it out. I have maxed the bandwidth in the network options and no help. Any suggestions?

I have a ferrari F40, quite capable of going at speeds in excess of 300km/h, but during rush hour in the city center of frankfurt it's crawling along at speeds close to walking speed. whom should i complain to?

No, because this happens all day long, on every sim I visit. Things load slow. The textures rez halfway then rez fully after 3-5 minutes. Unless I alt-click an item to view it, everything lingers. People are loaded way before me.

I have 256 megs of video memory, and plenty of space on my hard drive, so I have no idea what the issue is.

What card are you running?

Sounds like video card to me too. If you running 32 bit you are limited as to useable RAM to just under 4G and windows can use a lot of that up just running and the video card memory is also part of that.

Its why I'm going to go dual boot 32 bit and 64 bit this weekend. (scary but I too have a very fast rig and internet connection and I'm being bottle necked by the RAM limitation)

256 memory on graphic card is not a whole lot for SL.
