Why is it that, after the crash logger kicks in, that the only way I can access the game is by re-installing? And today, I didn't even crash. I logged off successfully, and then when I tried to log in just now, the crash logger comes up -- three times in a row. Is there a way for me to override this, and if not, can this be fixed?
Also, why does SL delete the existing directories and settings on re-install? Beware of storing any files in the Program Files/SecondLife directories, lest they disappear...
And now, after re-installing, the crash logger STILL pops up. What is going on??? I can't access the game at all.
*Edited to include re-install questions *Edited to report the persistent crash logger

Have you checked lately for bad sectors on your drive?

I'll check that this evening, but I doubt that's the issue. My system is running fine, otherwise. When I've had a bad sector in the past, Windows has prompted me to scan on startup. That isn't happening at present.

sometimes when SL crashes the cache gets corrupted
you can try deleting the cache folder SL creates rather than doin a full reinstall

Christopher - Last time this happended to me, I deleted cache and the re-started my machine. I was then able to log in without re-installing SL. Hope that helps.
