I have bug reported this, but I found that, once *I* knew it, it made building detailed objects much easier. So I'll share...

Normal Behavor:
When you drag an object by its body and not by the XYZ arrow cluster, it only moves in the X-Y plain. To make it go up or down (Z) you hold down Control, then it goes up-and-down, as well as left-and-right (which is either X or Y depending on the angle of your view).

Bug:
The bug is only for when the snap-to-grid is on. It happens when the Control key is released and the mouse button is still down. The object, which snapped to the grid when moved up and down, will jump slightly off the grid when Control is released. If you push Control again with the mouse STILL down, it will snap back. (You can repeatedly press and release it to see the object jiggle.) Letting go of the mouse button after releasing Control will leave the object OFF the grid in the Z direction.

Until the bug is fixed, always release the mouse BEFORE you release Control. If you still need to do more X-Y movements, use a second mouseclick.

I hope this helps a few people.
