Hi all, I'm planning to buy a new laptop (Thanks Santa Klaus  ), and i'd like to know if things will works fine with an Intel X3100 or X4500 or if i have to buy a laptop with and Nvidia or ATI GC. I have now a laptop with an intel 954M (and XP), and my FPS is often really low (even under 1), and le 1st lagmeter light is always red... |

Iceman its best to look with a supporting video card that is suggested on the linden website, so go with anything nvidia and make sure it does not share the ram with the laptop it's self. so a 256mb video card will work perfect, just dont go my route and get a z1vap vaio that only has 16mb card, cant do sl with that I can not

I had an HP laptop with the intel 965 chipset,the minimum to run SL,it worked ok but it did not give a very good sl experience,after the big outage a few months ago it got worse,constantly freezing,huge lag So i decided to find out what i needed to run sl,i purchased an HP entertainment laptop with 4 gb memory,2.60ghz processor and a nvidia 8600 video card,now sl is a dream I did have a crashing problem with the 1 20 and 1 21 viewers but once i updated the video card that was solved I have 64 bit vista.i also keep a cooling fan under the notebook to keep the heat down |

You will be much better off with something like an Nvidia 8600M, or similar card. |
