How come everytime Linden Labs FORCES a new version on us 1000's of residents can't log in?! This is the third time now that they FORCE us to download a new version and I can't log in! I have substancial finances in SL and I can't afford to "wait it out." I will loose hundreds of dollars because of this...thanks Linden Labs....

Are you running Vista Syriel? Becuz I'm having login issues also and I keep getting - "Unable to connect to Second Life despite our best efforts, something unexpected has gone wrong". I'm running Vista 32Bit and have had this problem as soon as I was forced to update SL.
Nothing seems to work, I've killed my firewall... same error message. I've created an entry exception for SL with the firewall... same error message. I've assigned a specific port (13000) to SL on my wireless router... same error message.
Frustrating to say the least, but I'm not sure if its a Vista issue or an SL issue!

I've been able to log in on a WinXP system with the latest update and no apparent issues, but not with Win Vista 32 bit.
