Got a new card (well borrowed it) and still having same problem, crashes when I click. Anyone know if this card is compatable or if it's something in my settings?

I did a Google for that card. It's a 2002 card. I doubt it will work. Even if it does, I'm afraid it will be very problematic for you.
Max video ram is 64 megs.

damn... my ATI 128mb is better... oh well, thanks for the info, means I can give it back tomorrow instead of acctually paying him for it  lol I really wish SL woudl have stuck to the DX standard isntead of the OpenGL standard... Seems that every card supports MS's DX, but almsot none support OpenGL... |

SL has never been DirectX.............that would lock out all the Mac and Linux users.

My point is that I wish they suppored DX because it's what allt he cards support. And acctually, iirc there is a way to get DX support on linux... know nothign about Mac though... |

it works  I am on a nvidia mx4000 and was using a mx420. they work just prepare your self for horrible lag if you get around sculpties and windlight will not work with it.

My fiance Raynor uses my old PC with a GeForce 4MX. You can ask him, it works fine.

It's not really good with the Windlight settings, but apart from that, SL runs without problems.

I can't think of any. Major diff between OpenGL and OpenGL 2.0 - so far I've had 3 cards that dont support 2.0, my Radeon 9250, the Nvidia this thread is about, and a S3 ProsavageDDR (onboard graphics chip by VIA) Lightsmark verified they dont support OpenGL 2.0 |
