i have a very old client version, though i doubt that matters because a friend has a much newer one and has the same problem as mine. anyway, i wanted to try out windlight, so i downloaded it, and wanting to keep my old client, i installed wl to a mem stick. fair enough, my pc's rubbish so i don't get the benefit of wl on this computer that i'm supposed to with the client, but all works as it should. today however, i log in, and i don't see my shinyness anymore  anything thats supposed to look slick and metallic just looks plain white.. or black. my friend has the same sideffects after upgrading too. is there anything we can do to revert this problem? |

Did you go to your SL preferences under graphics and check that "shiney" was not turned off by the WL client in prefs?

Clearing cache does not always fix everything. I recently had an issue with partial clouds not rendering after a crash. Seems like if the viewer relates a crash to a feature, that feature is disabled. Try deleting the secondlife folder in Your users application data folder. This is where you cache and settings are stored. Removing this forces the viewer to default. Negative is You will have to redo all your setting and debug options. dow, that was it... thanks guys, i'm think lol there was only one graphics tab which i thought was weired.. and when i went in there is only one slidey bar and it was at min. its then i see the custom check box. i'm pretty impressed with the windlight graphics settings! esp when i want to take a screeney.. just slide onto full settings and when i'm done slide back! im gona be playing around with the environment settings forever lol, its so amazing! thanks for your help guys  ) |
