"Second life is unable to run because your video card drivers did not install properly, are out of date, or are for unsupported hardware. Please make sure you have the latest drivers and even if you do, re-install them."
Is the error I receive. I have an Nvidia GTX280 which I received yesterday, is this graphics card compatible with Second Life or is this because of another problem ?
Or is it not compatible at all, and will I have to switch to another card to run Second Life ?
Is there a fix coming soon ?
Thank you for your time.

I've searched Jira for nearly a day now and I haven't found any possible solution, sadly.
If anyone else is using a GTX 280, could they come forward and share their experiences and perhaps problems they are having ?

I'm using the GTX 280 and I've used it with XP and Vista on SL with no issues. I'm using the 178.15 beta drivers which can be found here: http://downloads.guru3d.com/Videocards---NVIDIA-ForceWare-Vista_c32.htmlThe only odd thing I received was a message when I started SL that said (I can't remember the exact verbiage) SL doesn't recognize my video card and that I may have to adjust my video settings - but it was just an information type message and did not stop me from using SL. I just got my card a few weeks ago and in fact, it works great with SL. Not sure why yours won't. Are you using the latest viewer?

Yes, I am indeed using the latest viewer and I'm running XP.
I'm now downloading those beta drivers and installing them, I'll let you know what happens, but because of something I have a feeling that it won't work.
Let's hope for the best.
And note: the message I received didn't allow me to continue forward, it said SL was shutting down and that was it.
Thank you
EDIT: The problem persists.
EDIT 2: Managed to clear up the problems by, oddly enough, installing Crysis: Warhead. o.O
All of the SL clients now function properly.

Perhaps your Direct X was out-of-date and Warhead installed it. That's all I can think of. Glad it's working though!
