Cant log in Avatar is stuck inworld =(

HI i need help to log into sl........ how on earth can i get my avatar out of sl when in have logged out but she stays inworld??? tis very frustrating. i was stuck and couldnt walk so i decided to relog but when i tried to log back in i kept getting the message the sl is logging u out and u cant og back in til such and shch a time...... everytime i tried to log in it would make the time even later, it wasnt until i logged into Facebook that a friend from sl told me my avatar was still standing there.....Help!

There are a few things you can try that used to work but I really don't think they are effective anymore. I'll tell them, just in case. Get your friend on Facebook to bump you, IM you, give you something (a L$, some transferable freebies, or notecard).

If that does not work then about the only reliable solution is the get the sim you are ghosted in restarted. Find out what sim you are ghosted in and ask for a restart. If it's mainland, submit a support ticket explaining you are ghosted, which sim you are in, and how you think you became ghosted (like you "couldn't walk so you relogged". If it's on a private estate, contact the owner of the estate and request the same thing (giving the same information).

turns out i was on a sim owned by a friend without knowing it, she reset it and all is how it should b again..... thank you for you helpful response much appreciated =)

I know of no reliable way to entirely avoid ever becoming ghosted. The most common cause for being ghosted is probably SL crashing suddenly on you you............not a lot you can do if that happens. Sometimes you might get a hint that a crash is about to happen when things start acting weird......colors flashing, screen blinking or flickering, etc. But you usually don't get those warnings so you suddenly find yourself at your desktop. It's usually best to wait a few minutes before trying to log back in.........maybe 5 minutes or so.

The other most common cause of being ghosted is when you experience excessive lag and in frustration you relog.........and you relog in the middle of a lag spike where the servers just sent your client data but you logged. The servers don't register your logging out so you get stuck, or ghosted. It's best to wait out the lag spike before you relog (you can tell when the lag spike has passed when your avi "jumps a little". It's better to wait even if the servers log you off due to a lost connection than to log durring a lag spike.

But, everyone will get ghosted once in a while........just the nature of SL. Like I said it's best to wait a few minutes before attempting to log back in. If you get the message that it appears you are alreadly logged in, then wait the few minutes that LL asks. Hammering the log in servers repeatedly trying to get back in actually slows the process down for you. Time usually takes care of the problem.........but if it persists for 1/2 to 1 hour you might consider a support ticket (if on Maniland), or contacting the sim owner if not.

Also a little tip. Get an alt and allow that alt to "map" you. That way you can find yourself if you don't know where you are ghosted.........that helps for getting a sim restarted.
