1) Excessive punctuation does not emphasize your problem, it only makes your writing look less mature. This writing style will discourage people from helping you, because typically people who do this are impatient and unthankful for the assistance people attempt to give them.

2) It sounds like you're having network problems.

- You should reboot all hardware associated with your link to the internet (computer, cable modem, router, hubs, etc)

- Verify whether or not it is *only* SL that is having trouble sending broadband data to your computer. Try downloading something fairly large from a fast website so you can check the download rate. Hopefully you're getting at least 10 kiloBytes per second. If not, then you need to contact your ISP.

- Try adjusting your network settings in SL's preferences. Set it to 100 kbps. If that fixes it, you can try increasing it.

- If you've recently installed or enabled any firewalls or other security software (ie ZoneAlarm, etc), you may have to disable it or configure it to behave nicely with SL.

3) To send an IM to someone in SL without having their calling card, click on the FIND button, then select the PEOPLE tab, and type in part or all of the person's name. Select their name from the list and you will see their profile, which will allow you to send them an instant message.

At the top of this page, click Service & Support, then go to Contact Us. The 800 number is in there.

delete the second life cache folder, that usually works

its in documents and settings/application data/secondlife/cache i believe

usually when it hangs when downloading inventory its related to a cache corruption... clearing the entire cache folder has fixed it when its happened to me
