There seems to be an epidemic of non-solidness. I and others have stood on my tree house roof and dropped clear through to the ground. Rumor has it has also happened on other sims as well. In our case once the sim went down and then back up the problem ceased.

On an earlier problem of first logging in and getting the "äv riseing" I have found a quick fix to be using the teleport to home, clears it right up. It is however a still reoccuring problem.

Hi S,

On the subject of falling through floors, some notes for all:

The edges where regions connect (the division between the lit/unlit squares on the map) are not correctly physically simulated. Single physical objects which cross these edges are not simulated on the simulator they cross into. For this reason, if you are building something like a bridge on an edge, you need to 'double up' by placing objects on both sides of the edge which cross over.

The best thing is to avoid building structures which span region boundaries.

On the 'rising AV' bug, that is really serious. S, if you see this, pls email me / Haney / etc and tell which sim this is happening in.

non solidness

Just to make sure ......

This is something "new"occuring that just started last week. The whole time Ive been building my tree home it never occurred until last week. It was worse last night as I could not only drop through the roof, floor but could also pass back up through it the other way.

this was near the center of the sim 10(which night Stell?). it happened once in a while and got progressivly worse until everyone had fallen through the floor and was standing on the ground.

steller's sim is weird
12-04-2002 07:59
I fell not only through her house but in fact, through the land under it as well. Everything dissappeared from my map. The I started flying, went up a bit, came up underwater, then continued to rise until I was above water. I could at that point see sims around stellers, but her whole sim was gone. I flew to another sim, and turned to look back the way I came and her whole sim showed up again. So I flew back, but neither steller nor her tree house were there, it was just the island itself.

I also had her flight bug. Kept rising, turned off fly and was falling (animation) while rising.

just before that I was in an enclosed crowded area ( 2 of us in her awesome taxi)
and I was jumping around but couldn't move, so I hit fly and went up through the roof of the taxi ( which was not phantom )

phantom script
12-04-2002 08:19
I'm wondering if anyone else has that phantom script attached to an object on a sim? Could there be some correlation, maybe the script interfering in some way with other objects on the sim?

You would think if there is any problems in correlation to that script that this problem would have happened before this. Was there anything changed regarding scripts in the last week?

I am pretty much stabbing in the dark since I don't have much script knowledge. :)

"That phantom script"

I have my own phantom scripts, I'm not sure which ones in particular you mean.

Steller's non-colliding house
12-04-2002 22:02
Peter showed me Steller's house in its non-colliding state. This is definitely something new... I hadn't seen it before. I knew that Steller was using a "phantom" script, but I couldn't see anything wrong with it (it was only 4 lines or so). It did occur to me that perhaps the script had something to do with it, however the current release doesn't have the tools to debug the problem (but the up and comming release does ;-). Also, the problem has proven to be elusive (doesn't repro).

As soon as we have a reproducable case, or it happens in the next release I think I'll be able to track it down and fix it.
