HIyas Everyone,
It seems that the more times I log in and out of SL the worse the viewer (1.23.4 WinXP) getsIt's like some dll's are not unloading from memory or something. It's like I don't have enough system resources to run the viewer but everything else tells me I do. By the third time I log in, I have to reboot my PC to get the viewer to function properly. The rest of my PC seems to function as normal.. other apps run just fine!
I have an NVidia 8800 GT and it has worked flawlessly up until this newest viewer. I've swapped out video drivers with no change.
Anyone else experiencing something like this with this viewer?

I recently caught more than one session of SL running on my computer, after I had closed the program. Check your list of running apps

From: Paul Wardark I recently caught more than one session of SL running on my computer, after I had closed the program. Check your list of running apps I've had the same thing happen! With the SL viewer running I have seen a second Second Life.exe in my processes list sitting at about 85 meg. I just now started up my SL viewer and it told me it was already running but when I check my processes list... nothing! Something weird is going on.

I switched over to Kirsten's S18.205. I had not run a 3rd party viewer in a while but what a difference! Not only in overall performance but in system resource use.
LLs viewer is a piece of JUNK!!!

Yes, viewer 1.23 is totally degrading. You try and edit an attachment and it says "no, no, you can't do that, you're a bad boy and you're going into appearance instead". It totally makes you its bitch.
There hasn't been such a degrading viewer since the communicator had me jumping around like an idiot.
Stick with 1.22.

I am dreading the day that I try to log in and I get the message that I am going to be forced to use 1.23. I have stayed away from it because of all the bad things i have read. I think when that day finally comes that will be the day I start using a 3rd party.

It seems that on my last hard drive re-format ( I do them occasionally) I did not re-install a small program from AMD that I normally use. I thought Microsoft installed it when I did updates for WinXP 32. It's a dual core optimizer for AMD Athlon 64 bit processors. I re-installed this small program and my troubles with the SL viewer went away!
