Well not sure where to post this!
Ok here it is as short as possible. I live with my parents (I am an adult) and am disabled. I don't own or want a credit card. I do have a paypal account which is theirs too. I tried using money trees in game but it said "You need a CC". So I got my parents to let me use their cards. Well I tried both of theirs a few times over the past few days and no matter what I do when I click a money tree it brings me back to the "verify" page here at SL.COM.
In my account summary it shows the CC. So why won't it let me take money?!?!? I even tried using my Paypal account but it still won't take money.
So whats wrong with it? Is it because they are Debit/Credit Cards? If so I think that sucks. Not everyone has credit cards, some people have debit cards or bank cards...etc. This game is pretty much boring after awhile if you can't buy anything. And you can't buy anything unless you have a CC. You could if you have Paypal. But thats a pain because theres a fee and yadda yadda.
I suck at building and most everything else. I just want to get a few dollars once in a awhile in game. Why can't they just make it simple! Add a debit card or make all the trees so you don't need a stupid CC! No wonder people quit. Its only fun if you have money or if you have skills at building.

That is weird, Talin. I use a CC in my brothers name and it worked from day one. I even switched cards from his to my own and still no problem. There has to be a glitch in the process.....you can send an email to Linden Labs explaining what happened. Although you have to be very patient before you'll receive an answer.

A lot of people have been having problems with getting their accounts verified - in fact a week or two ago some people's credit card information got wiped and people had to reenter. It showed that I had a card registered on the account screen, but when I went to billing information, it wasn't there.
Money tree owners have the option of choosing what level of account is allowed to pick from their tree. The most popular kind of money tree comes with a default setting of verified members. Probably a lot of people just don't change the defaults.
If it's any consolation, you can come to my store and pick from my money tree any time - I've set mine so unverified accounts can use it too. See link in my signature.

I'm having this same problem too. I put my credit card into the web site last week, and while the web site shows the information, ingame it still doesn't think I'm verified. Don't know what's going on with it, but it's definitely annoying. The vast majority of money trees seem to required a verified CC, which just seems like it defeats the whole purpose of helping newbies get started. Hope LL gets this fixed before my 30-day period is over.

In thwe case this is not just BS about freebie accounts crabbing they can`t pick off the main trees? I say stick with your other 30 alts freebie accounts. If your really in this position then i say get a prepaid or throw away buy in the store type. I heard they work. But Please is this is just BS to rip off wonderful people that gives.
