This does not seem like the right spot to ask, but the opensource wiki (http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Communication_tools) points to this forum so...

I've downloaded the source for the current release client and got it to compile (mostly). Sound isn't working yet but I'll tackle that later. Mainly what I want is to figure out where chat comes in and goes out. I'm working on a project for myself and trying to configure some communication that would interface with a script and my SL client, so that the script will talk to me with OwnerSay and then my SL client will respond on an alternate chat channel. The client software is so big though that I don't even know where to start looking. It's something I could add with 1 or 2 lines of code if I were using libsecondlife to run a bot, but I want to put it into my normal client software.

I'm using Mac OS X 10.5.6, xcode development, core2 duo iMac with 4GB ram.

Any advise would be most appreciated -- or if there's a more appropriate forum, please point me in the right direction.

Thank you!
