Does anyone know the exact dimensions of the chat 'say' area? Seems to be 15x15x15. Can someone confirm (or deny)?
Thanks, Candie

After a bodged together experiment in the sandbox a while back, I was led to assume 10, 20, and ~100 metres for whisper, say, and shout distances. I'm pretty sure I got a 19m reading out of the "say" version anyway...
I may retry today.

I always thought it would be a circular radius, and I know for a fact that they are 10, 20, and 100 meters.

Yes, it's spherical. And for some reason I always thought it was 15, 30, and 100.
Eggy did you get yours from a specific reference, or based on experience?

From: someone Originally posted by Bino Arbuckle Yes, it's spherical. And for some reason I always thought it was 15, 30, and 100.
Eggy did you get yours from a specific reference, or based on experience? Hrm, I was under the same impression, though I always believed it to be effectively <10 <33 <97. In meaning that an object which is centered exactly 10m away would not hear a whisper, but at 9.999... would.

Shout: 100 meter radius from shouter Say: 20 meter radius from say'er Whisper: 10 meter radius from whisperer

Yup, spherical, and 10/20/100 meter radius. Tested today :)

Well, that's annoying (or not). I wonder if the distances used to be 15/30 at some point, and got modified with the addition of "Talk To" in 1.1?
But then again, Chris says otherwise from his tests in beta. But my usage way back when seems to disagree. Heh oh well.

I remember Wednesday Grimm testing this in December 2002, and the numbers were 10/20/100, at least, I think so. I seem to remember them being 5/20/100, but, it's 10 now.

10 meters for a whisper? Pretty loud whisper.
