Still having a problem saving textures locally

For some reason, I still havn't been able to save textures locally. But last night I tried it again with one of the textures from the fabric bundle and it worked. So I tried it again with one of the textures that have failed in the past and it didn't save.

When I looked at the first texture from my hard drive I noticed that it was about a quarter of the size of the textures I had been dealing with. I figured that the file size had to be making the difference. The other textues weren't working because they were too big.

The strangest thing is that even though the files aren't being saved locally, shortcuts to where they should be show up in my Start-->Documents menu.

If anyone has any idea what is wrong or how to fix it, please let me know.

I was having trouble last night too. Tried 4 or 5 different times to save the Map, and it failed every time. Then tried a few times to just take a snapshot and those attempts also failed.

Aaron: I have no stats to report from last night. Will try again tonight and pay attention to the stats meter if I get failures again.

Tracey,

Get thyself to the Bazaar! There's lots of stuff there for the taking, including a fabric bundle of textures that I'm assuming is what Johnathan is referring to.

Everything at the Bazaar is (supposed to be anyway) free. Some items will have a Buy option after Aquire, but all -should- allow you to simply take a copy.

(Of course, any objects you rez from your inventory will still cost you as normal)

I'm having the exact same problem, John. You said something about this ingame earlier, and I haven't been able to figure it out yet. It would make sense that it was because the textures were so big.

I'm behind a router/firewall, but I set myself to the DMZ which should alleviate any problems dealing with ports, but it's still the same. I can get the small files (biggest i have saved was a 192kb Redwood texture), but the shirts, pants, and all the other big textures won't save.

Are you guys geting error messages in dialog boxes (or the log) or is the download just never finishing?

If it's just not finishing, how much time are you waiting before you give up?

I don't think this problem is fixed in 0.3, but it's behavior may have changed a bit, so please keep your eyes open.

Thanks for your help!
