Sometimes when I load my SL viewer 1.19.1 (4) I get this Display Settings have been set to recommened levels based on your system configuration. This annoying reset close button cant be turned off for at least 10-15 seconds after seeing it and I goto preferences check custom and dump the two check marks Atmospheric shaders and basic shaders and reset the sliders to what I like to see. It doesnt happen every time but most often after running the RC viewer or going to the beta grid viewer. If I have to stop using these two viewers to stop this annoying reset of my display setting which by they way are set the same as the 1.19.1 (4) viewer I will since this is is very annoying. On the other hand I'm getting to learn my settings that I like very well but shouldnt have to honestly.
If your going to ask, no I do not like windlight, its pretty, but pretty isnt what I use SL for.

When you set your preferrences are you hitting the "apply" button before closing the window?
Ahh...........just reread your post. Are you talking about the Environmetal settings you set for your lighting, atmospheric and water? You can save those settings for future use by hitting the "save" button before closing the windows. But those settings don't remain across log ins............you need to select your saved settings each time you log in. All the viewers revert back to the SL default each time you log in.

Actually it doesnt do it all the time mostly when switching viewers but it does do it every so often when loading the viewer...why cant we keep the 1.18.3.5 type graphics tab..I think I can understand most of the options..not that I use most of them. You say I am going to have to reset my paramaters almost every time I load the viewer? if thats the case I'm gonna find a way to get my 1.18.3.5 viewer working or I'm gonna trash this viewer |

If you are using a saved environmental setting, you will have to do it everytime........not most of the time. SL resets to the SL default setting every time you log in. Just like the 1.18,xx viewer does. I believe there is a JIRA about it............go find it and vote for it.
