Ever since the new release came out, on occasion, an error message will pop up Reading "Smart Heap Library" . . . .And then below that it will say "Out Of Memory" . . . and give me the options to "Abort" , "Retry", or "Ignore"

Eventually after hitting ignore a few times, I get booted out of Secondlife!!!!

What is the Smart Heap Library? and what do I need to do about the memory?

It's just a bug.. An annoying bug but still just a bug.

You can't do anything. the heap is a part of memory where data is stacked like boxes one upside the other. But this heap has a limit and if it is not well managed a lot of boxes are stacked and none of them taken out and when that heap overpass its limit you get that message, in the end, a programming bug.

32bit limitations ^.~ 2 gig ram enviroment

SL is still not /largeaddressaware , without it the client will not see beyond 2 gig ram even if you have more.

Doesn't matter if it is in x86 or x64 with aware capable it would see beyond 2gig space for software and run in it , now it goes to that point it can in 32bit and flips out when it dont have more memory to put stuff in, but then again it doesnt "flush" out what it should either so it ends up devouring whats availible and crash out.

Heres ram use with 64bit client Hellfire, well got ram? use it then! ,dont force program to run under set ram limit 32bit have and flips out when it get to high ~.~.

As for jira as have as much faith in that as seeing a Linden replying to this forum, fair enough to report bugs somewhere, but i have yet to see years old bug get fixed yet, so they pretty lost my faith in bugging as i never see it get fixed.

Whenever a bug is found they usually reply with a "workaround" instead of a actual fix, wich starting to get old.

I don't generally even bother with tickets anymore unless it's for a region restart.

Everything else is either a "take it to Jira" or "here's a cut and paste knowledgebase article."

I get the same error, and before the error the world will show triangles above my head of graphics. Huge triangles of textures near me.
