Agp turned into PCI.. blah

I have an agp slot on my motherboard, yay me.. and i have an agp enabled graphics card.

Nvidia Geforcefx 5900xt OC yay me.

However, it's only being seen as a pci card. I dled- or thought i dled the update for agp drivers. Where caniget that again.

My motherboard is an Intel Desktop Board D865GBF im not sure but i dont think it has a via chipset. No, i just looked and it hasan INTEL chipset. so the via and nvidia drivers in the downloads section wont work.

I have the lastest Graphics drivers as well so that's not the problem.

Same problem here. SL says my GeForce FX5600 is a PCI card.

I've confirmed that I have the latest drivers and bios.

I'm not sure if this will help, but in another thread, someone said that downloading new motherboard drivers from the motherboard chipset maker's website could fix the problem.

Done that as well. I wonder if its something to do with Nvidea's PCI Express, which despite its name is a version of AGP.

I checked out that thread as well.. i have an intel based motherboard it's not nvidia or via chipsets.. intel.. and that didnt work.

I'm trying to figure out if I'm using PCI express. Although its mentioned on the web site, doesnt seem to be anything inthe nvidea tools to say whether or not its in operation.

I am reasonably convinvced that I'mnot using true PCI, as the motherboard doesnt have a PCI socket.

As far as I know, there are no PCI Express graphics cards on the market right now, and almost no non-server mainboards with PCI Express slots. Odds are, you aren't using PCI Express for the graphics card.

Car, See all those little short slots streching away as far as the ey ecan see.. those are PCI slots every mother board has them .

Not all mainboards have PCI slots. For example, one computer I've got has a mix of 16-bit and 8-bit ISA slots. Many server mainboards, and a few consumer-level ones, use PCI-X.
