bah grumble.
/END Rant.

Just started using seccond life after seeing a friend play it. so afterdeciding I liked it got my own 4 month subscription. (on day 2 of 7 day trile now)

System
OS: Windowz XP Pro MSDN (dev edition)
OS2: Gentoo linux
Mem: 256meg
CPU: amd 1.6ghz
GPU: msi geforce 5600 pro 128meg
MB: EG L7VTA

Problem 1.

manged to get it install and walk about a bit, met up with friends and started to explore. It would seem i had filled what littel ram i had (256meg) and windows started using a page file. now the problem is, when ever SL startes to use a page file my system BSOD's and reboots. I could live with it happing after a few hours but ever since that first time, it now BSOD's just after i connect to the server.

I have closed all open/running programs not needed (including anti-whatever) and it stills dies in the same place. the only way round it i can see is to get more ram, sadly im straped for cash this month and what i could have spent on ram went on SL (being a student sucks sometimes)

Not wanting to cancel to get more ram, any idea's any one ?

Probelm 2

Ok, so my next step was to try and get SL working in linux (I use Linux normaly just have XP for games and silly windows uni work.)

I have the latest version of Cedega (wineX 4.0) [Yes its payed for :P] and cant get the thing to install it complains about a version allready running or window named SL. any one got any work arounds for that ?

Ok, copyed my windows install over and just ran it in Cedega and hoped. sadly no luck all it does is resize my screen , go black then crash, leaving me back to me desktop, but smaller and i cant see any thing but the mouse. does any one know if there are any modfications i need to make to me install of Cedega to get SL to work nicely ?

Thanks for all that read this, and thanks again if you post a reply :D

Problem 1 solved, look in the "SP2 any problems thread" for info about it.

still confused on what i can do about my linux install. tho looking on these forums i dont seem to have found any info about what i can do with non-cvs version.
