Interesting. Seems to be ok for me, I just tried rezzing a new cube, creating a script and just hitting save and it compiled and ran.

Can you think of anything else that might have influenced this error?

Are you a Mac user?
I have a friend who had this same problem.

I spoke to a Linden about it...

It happened again this morning.

I have no clue why.

I've encountered the same problem twice now, and I also use the Mac client. Each time I'd been logged been in for about half an hour, and I first noticed it when getting syntax errors on my own script, usually on the first character. I reported the bug and its status is now "solved", so hopefully it'll be fixed in the next minor release.

Quitting and logging back in fixed the problem for me, so you can use that workaround until it's fixed for good.
