Thanx for any help on this... I have a Dell Vostro 1500 laptop new, Windows Vista OS home basic, Intel Core 2 Duo T5270, 1.4 GHz, 800 Mhz FSB, 2M L2 Cache, 2GB DDR2 667Mhz 2DIMM, Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset, Intel Integrated Graphics Media Accelerator X3100, Dell Wireless 1390 802.11g Mini Card.

My internet connection is Cox cable, with Linksys Router 2.4 GHz 54 Mbps Wireless-G Broadband-----

SL loaded up fine, no error messages on inadequate hardware there.... BUT, when I try to log on and it gives popup on streaming music playing at 768 kbs button to click on..... then I get kicked out every time. It won't complete the process of my logging completely in before crashing.

Am I missing something here on my new laptop?? Is the router the problem, even though it is giving signal of 54 Mbps off of my cable ISP and the internet is lightning faster than my regular PC, woot! *I have no problem on my Dell PC btw with SL go figure :P hehe* ... unless I've lost my mind that is faster than 768 kbs so I wouldn't think the router would be the problem?? LOL

Please advise.... I would really like to be able to play this game on this laptop besides my regular PC if I can.....

Aachh!! I think i found problem but don't know how to solve

I went into one site on SL.... to test bandwidth... it says on the speed tester that it ranges between 3-4 mbps :P so not good at around 400 kbps since the streaming sound button pops up for the 768 ... I am guessing that is why I am crashing, but am confused since my connection is showing 54 Mbps on the router :P

How do I increase the bandwidth on the internet?? weird since the actual connectivity is showing the 54 mbps on the properties but that tester shows way lower

Any help would be appreciated here :) Thanx

OK.... i checked out my own bandwidth on my regular Dell PC and it is actually LOWER than the laptop :P so I didn't diagnose the problem after all, since the PC works fine... I guess those bandwidth testers aren't really reliable there LOL

So does anyone know what I am missing here from the 1st post? I would hate to think that I would have to spend more money on parts for my laptop.... *I hate Vista, I'll just blame Microsoft hehe* XP runs great on my regular PC there

Its probably the graphics card, very few are officially supported and yours isn't on the list.
Try turning all graphics options to minimum settings.

Check you have the latest Intel chipset and graphics drivers, even a new computer might have 6 month old drivers from when the model was first released.

Also you mention streaming music message, so turn off all the sound options you can, just in case.

Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset

Recommend you return it and get one with nvidia graphic card, you will be shut out of SL someday cause of that vid card right now you have random luck when you manage to get in, and you will crash soon enough as that vid card is horrible.

Intel vid cards are on the 'minimum' requirements to run SL,
wich for me translates to = dont bother / good luck / you will crash.
