I am having a problem running second life. My computer was running it just fine recently. I happened to get a virus (not from second life) and had to reformat my computer. I downloaded all the latest drivers and when i try to run SL I can see the HUD but the actual game is all messed up. I can chat just fine and get into my inventory or get into the file, edit view tabs. The rest of the screen is all jacked up though.
I have a P4 2.4 Ghz, 1GB ram, 256 MB ATI Radeon 9550 vid card. I thought it might be the vid card drivers so I DL them but that did not change anything. I installed Unreal Tournament 2004 and it plays just fine. If anyone has any ideas they would be greatly appreciated. I took a screenshot of what it is doing but I have no idea how to attach it to this post.

Disabling VBO and turning off anti-aliasing might help

Also disabling Catalyst AI.

VBO is in SL's preferences. In SL, go to the Edit menu, preferences , graphics. Click the "Hardware Options" button. It's a checkbox labeled something like Enable OpenGL Vertex Buffer Objects. Uncheck it. That's probably your problem. Antialiasing is in the same section, and should be disabled (it should be disabled by default).

Catalyst AI is somewhere in the ATI Catalyst Control Center. I don't know exactly where.
