So; I just did a serious PC Upgrade, essentially a new computer...
Phenom II 940 Black Edition MSI K9N2 SLI Platinum Mobo OCZ Reaper DDR2 4GB 1066 RAM Western Digital 1TB Sata HDD EVGA Geforce 8800GT 512DDR3 x2/SLI Creative X-Fi Platinum
Fresh clean installation of Win Xp Pro after a complete and full format of the NEW HDD, all drivers and software updated to latest, etc..
I then installed 3DMork06 and let it run for about an hour without any problems, same with latest PCMark.
Ran Crysis and FarCry2 for about half an hour, no problems...
I download and install latest Second Life...
Constant crashing! Sometimes once every 10 minutes.. sometimes after 45 mins of play...
Always with no error codes, no error messages.. just straight crash to desktop, constantly!
I don't know why or how to fix it... I tried falling back to previous SL version and same problems, constant crashing...
Does anyone have any advice?

What version video driver are you using? You might try 175.16 or 175.19; many folks report one of these older versions works better with SL than the current or other more recent versions. You do have some fans or other cooling devices in the box, I assume.

Yea, I am using v180.08.. just released by nVidia about a week ago.
I think I will try one of the v175.xx copies, as I was having a lot of success with those before.

still same issues with the 175.XX series drivers... tried the 178.xx one as well..
I have a suspicion it might have something to do with my sound driver; as the last several crashes were accompanied by a high pitch squealing from my speakers, resulting in me having to reboot.

That's too bad, changing the video driver is such an easy fix, compared to actually having to solve a problem.
I've had SL fail owing to sound drivers before.
You could try looking in your secondlife.log file, and in the Event Viewer in Administrative Tools in the Control Panel.
Can't hurt to try some other viewers such the Release Candidate.
Also you can use Google to search the jira, with such phrases as
crash creative site:jira.secondlife.com
