Dear Techies!

I'm posting for a colleague, who says:

... when I try to open it, an error message pops up that says "Second Life requires True Color (32-bit) to run in a window." I went into the computer display settings to change the screen to 32-bit color but this computer only has up to 24-bit color.

Is there some way around this?

Thanks!

Veri

If it's a newer graphics card, make sure Windows is using a current version for device drivers. If it's an older card, and truly only capable of running 24-bit color, you wouldn't want a work-around as the card wouldn't run SL very well in general.

Thanks, y'all ... working on getting that info and then we'll post for more guidance. Also trying the newest version of the software and seeing about going full-screen,too. (Good idea ... ;-) Many thanks ...

Some video cards will support the colors on the desktop but at the same time not support it during full screen. Essentially the two sets of feature tables aren't matching up. There are apps available that you can use to edit said feature tables but do so at your own risk.
