Is it just me or does anyone have a problem with nearly continuous crackling noises? Sometimes it gets really bad and I have to turn my audio off.
I believe I had an Audigy Gamer card

It's not just you, I get it too. But it's intermittent. Some nights I'll get it and some nights I won't. Maybe it's related to the load being placed on the sim that we're on at the time.
Oh, and I'm using an SB Live.

After downloading the latest driver for my SB Live! sound card, I encountered no further audio interference.

I get intermittant sound in game and HAVE updated my drivers. Most applications it sound & works fine.
I have SB Live! Value. Is that sufficient or do I now have an excuse to upgrade? If so, to what?

I used to have this problem with my sound blaster live! card in other programs. Updating my driver didnt work, but what worked for me is turning down the sound on my computer. (If you dont see a little speaker/volume icon next to the time on ur taskbar go to control panel, click on sounds and audio devices, click on the audio tab, and click volume under sound playback. Keep that no higher the 50%, and only use your speakers to turn it up and down.) Hope that helps ya

I used to have an SB Live platinum that did this as well. Updated drivers didnt work. The solution for me was to turn down the hardware acceleration in Multimedia properties.
