Hey guys

I seem to have an issue with the Second Life viewer with my ATI 4770.

Ever since I upgraded to the 4770, any Second Life viewer I use complains that it doesn't know about the video card, so automatically jumps it down to basic settings - perhaps a useful tidbit of information, but not really the problem.

The problem I've had is, ever since upgrading to this card, any SecondLife viewer I use randomly shuts down without any error messages being dispalyed and no crash being detected by the crash reporter. This did not happen pre-upgrade. I am using the latest ATI drivers. This happened on both xp-64 bit and Windows 7. The latest drivers available at the time of installation were used for each OS.

The official Second Life viewer is the worst - I cannot run this viewer for more than 5 minutes before the client shuts down. Emerald and SnowGlobe handle it much better but still do it, I can play anything up to an hour or two before the viewer closes down.

The SecondLife viewers are the only applications I have that have a problem with this card - I run a few other graphically intensive programs (PhotoShop/Video Editing) without issue. The time I noticed it was when ugprading from a GeForce 6600 to this 4770, no other changes were made when this happened.

I was wondering if anybody had any ideas as to how this issue could be resolved. (And no, "change back to a GeForce card" will not cut it - I'm otherwise perfectly happy with this card!)
