I don't know if the SL client is multithreaded in the 1st place (I guess probably not, unless anyone knows)
But, if you had a quad core cpu and ran 2 instances of the SL client (using the -multiple command)
Do you think the different instances of the SL client would load up onto different CPU cores.
Of you could still end up with just 1 core running both SL clients and the other 3 almost redundant still?

My quad core runs them both on the same core. But, I've never tried setting affinity with one instance running then running the second and trying to set to another core. It might work, I don't know. But running two clients concurrently only adds about 5% CPU usage to my system..........from about 20 to 25% to about 25 to 30%. I don't see the benefit over the effort to set affinity.
But, I might try that just to see.

as far as i know windows is suposta manage the core load pretty much on its own, as long as the software "allows" it (ie early issues with SL and multi cpu and dual core machines)

when I have ran 2 instances I set the Affinity putting one on Core 1 and one on 0
it seems to work better than letting them both go...
If I run 1 instance both cores are in use, that's on Dual ... I don't know how a Quad would run
