Hi all!!
Tempted by an offer from Dell on a new laptop.
Graphics card is Integrated ATI RadeonĀ® Xpress 1150 HyperMemoryTM.
But not listed in SL as compatible.
Anyone know if this works?
And is Vista still a problem as an OS?
Thanks!

I wouldn't trust ANY system that relied on 'integrated graphics.' They are simply too low-end to be smooth and of any gaming benefit. Don't go by the misleading ads that say, "Power your gaming with this system." The ONLY way to power it for real is to get a dedicated video card, be it for desktop or laptop. Else, if it even runs, it will be lag-city in SL.

ATI Radeon Xpress graphics

I don't know about the HyperMemory but I have been using ATI Radeon Xpress 200 since I started in 2006. It works great despite the fact that SL continues to say it is untested. After speaking to ATI mid-2006 regarding the SL recommended ATI Radeon 8500, 9250, or better...ATI informed me that this is better. With SL though...

....I must say that although I can see everything else windlight has to offer (ie. shadows, more 3D in the textures, lighting differences, etc.) I cannot see those lovely clouds or water reflections at all. Not sure of the cause...everything else is perfect. If anyone has ideas in this area I would welcome any thoughts :)
