Hello, I have recently tried to terraform a 512sq meter land which resides on the side of a mountain (Volcano to be more specific). I am trying to smooth the terrain out so I can build on more even land. The issue is, I cannot terraform the property at all. The game viewer compains that I must own another parcel to terraform. Is terraforming a feature under development or, am I not doing something right? I have tried terraforming both, outside edges and, the middle of the parcel. all attepts fail with the same message. I read in the 'In Development' Section today that a Linden dev member was working on new terraforming features. Is this a possible reason for terraforming my parcel to be inoperative? Thank for any help in advance! Reteris Ritter PS: It is late so this post may have spelling and/or grammar errors. Addisionally, it may not make any sense what so ever

The newest sims, one you have bought in, dont allow any terraforming. You can terraform freely in other parts of the world. The tools for this are being revised to prevent the really dramatic changes that can be done with the current tools.

If it's part of the new southern continent, your land is completely unterraformable until the new tools come out, at which point the land will only be terraformable to a limited extent.
This is to prevent people from smoothing out the land into a flat, featureless plain of boringness so that they can have something 'easy' to build on. The idea is to build WITH the land, not in spite of it.

Hello,
Thanks for you replies everyone. I am still very new around here so I didn't know if terraforming was available at all and, I am still trying to figure out the new servers-I guess you all call them 'sims'. I will try it again when I am notified that terraforming is allowed on my 'sim'.

"Sim" is short for simulator, aka, server or region.
The new terraforming tools should be included with the 1.3 update. I am "guessing" a month to six weeks until we see that version.
