Is this a wireless or wired network to your room?
Is it wired or wireless from the wall to your computer?
If it's wireless from the wall to your computer, try connecting wired.
Your connection may just not be good enough for SL to work well.
Exactly what ports do you have open, and for UDP or TCP?

i hate it when its instantly blamed on wireless
theres different types of wireless
802.11x - fine as long as your signal is stable
wireless ISP (ie clearwire) - fine, i use it every day, again as long as you have a stable signal
cellular - kill your av cause you wont be playing worth a crap
----
back to the op, what version of the viewer are you using, there has been issues with teleporting reported on the mac version of 1.20.16

maybe the ghetto can help you diagnose the problem
10-05-2008 13:04
If you're connected wirelessly, packet loss is a common problem. One way I like to test whether packets are being dropped is by spamming local chat. I send about 10 chat messages as fast as I can and see if they all appear promptly or appear out of order. It's ghetto, but proven! In order for a teleport to finish we're now using http requests to port 12043 on a sim... You could copy and paste this into your browser's address bar: http://sim7776.agni.lindenlab.com:12043/ If the request went through, you should get an error immediately (in Firefox, I get "the connection was reset while the page was loading), but if something's wrong, it might make you wait a while, before saying the page isn't available (in Firefox: "the server is taking too long to respond" Sorry my suggestions are kinda goofy, best wishes to you

I have the same problem. Im using wireless, yes, but Im playing through the cable connection to it, not the wireless. I can connect fine, but I cant teleport anyplace either. I have to log out and type the region I want to join to teleport. This blows. This new update is ass.
