I apologize in advance, I think I might get a little wordy here.
I have never had issues with SL until this recent patch. Unfortunatly, I haven't really found anything in the patch's documentation (except maybe the profile issue) that would possibly cause the recent trouble either. Right after the recent patch, before and after the DOS attacks, I was either unable to log in or it took a huge amount of time/tries to various locations, reinstalling, driver updates (which were not necessary) etc... I seem to be fine now, however, other people I know, still are not able to log in. I watch my debugger and there is still a significant amount of the same constant errors being thrown by SL; mostly invalid circuits and packet flooding or loss- far more than ever before. Often they seem to immediately follow or precede certain Avatar*foo() processes. No other program I run has these problems, nor is my Firewall, ISP/connection experiencing issues, nor were they.
The other users who still cannot connect machines/connections vary greatly, however, one constant seems to be having an ATI card (various versions) (except one other person who has Nvidia). I myself have a newer Nvidia AGP card/chipset and a very spacious (lol, cant think of a better word) /fast machine. As I guessed would be true, I have been able to log in as these other people from my machine without trouble, but, oddly, then have issues trying to log in as myself again for a couple tries.
Tracking down the exact reason seems to be quite elusive. To my knowledge, SL Support has not yet pinpointed a specific solution to those I know whom are affected, just the usual restart, reinstall, /morris(or wherever), connection, firewall etc...
So after that long winded overview my question is, out of my own curiosity and on behalf of those I know not able to use SL now: Are there alot more ATI users experiencing the same errors or is it purely coincidence that all the people I know who still can't get in all have ATI?
Many Thanks to any SL Residents or SL/LL Support who might know anything to help
