SL chat repeats itself.

I have been having the most annoying problem EVER in my 3 years on Secondlife. When I type something either in local or IM, it tends to repeat itself, almost ALWAYS.

For example:

Do you guys know how annoying this is? I spam almost CONSTANTLY and I have no idea what to do. I have downloaded every SL client, new, old whatever. I have also downloaded Emerald to see if it would fix it. No... if anything in the last week its just gotten worse.

Any ideas? Yes Ive cleared cache. So thats not the problem.

Are you using a wireless network setup?

I understood the first part about the wifi, yes I am connected wireless through my desktop. My box has been reset numerous times in the last few months and this has been happening for almost a year.... or so Ive been told. My memories crap. But the last week its gotten much worse.

I was considering going to reset it in a few minutes. What I didnt understand was the last part - "yet another symptom of SVC-4196."

Any ideas?

I think the bug SVC-4196 (http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-4196) can cause some strange symptoms. The whole sim stops for a bit when the problem happens and I frequently see chat misordered or just plain lost.

If you're using wireless, that's probably a more likely canditate for what's causing the problem, though. Have you tried going wired for a bit, just to see if the problem stops?

I cant, I have a d-link adapter cause Im upstairs. The main hub and modem is downstairs with my router. Lol.

But Tbh, that is probably the problem. Im going to check my other avatar and see if it screws up on there too. If it does, then its the wifi.. if not... then SL just hates my original avatar.

Drill a hole through the floor above a closet or somewhere you can run an inconspicuous cable, and wire up that way.

I cant do any drilling.. but its a good idea. Im moving soon anyway, so we'll see how it goes. Im gunna just restart the router for now to see if it stops for a little while. Thank you for helping me pinpoint the problem.

Maybe its my frozen Canadian interwebz. Haha.

If you really can't go drilling holes in the floor, which really would be the best thing, you can try powering off the wireless gear on both ends for a couple minutes. If that doesn't help, try checking the antenna connections - make sure they're not loose - and maybe move the boxes around some if you can. Wifi is basically radio so line-of-sight is what you want - the less stuff between the two boxes, the better.
