Lock out after Crash

I am just curious as to what is causing there to be a lock out time after a crash. This makes about the third time that I have crashed reported the crash to Linden Labs and then was forced to wait 5mins to 10mins to log back in. I was unaware of any lock out period after reporting an error to Linden Labs so I am basically wondering if I was stop sending the reports would I still have the lock out time issue?

Also unrelated note...the lag is really starting to get annoying its time for a server upgrade as well as maybe a good ole fashion internet upgrade .

What you are calling a lock out after a crash is not that at all. Youre avatar is what is known as "ghosted"..........it's still there according the the servers and when you attempt to log back on after your crash the log in servers thinks you are already logged in. The five minute wait is to give the servers time to dump your ghosted avatar. Most of the time the wait time is enough..........but ghosted avis have been known to hang around for hours, even days.

Well while that makes perfect sense its an issue that needs to be addressed especially if it locks someone out for days. 5mins is one thing but days would be crazy for any site.

Submit a support ticket requesting a sim restart of the sim you are ghosted in.........if it's mainland. If it's private estate land then request a sim restart from the sim owner.

Don't submit a support ticket, they can't help you. I've been dealing with multiple problems and have yet to get it resolved. It's as though they're giving me the run around because the problem is on their end. I still have my ticket open after 3 days and they continue to feed me the same bs.
