Hello, I was wondering how strict the security is on the Lindan Support passing out Logins and passwords. The situation for me is that I share residence with someone (same IP) and i'm wondering if they were to call up support looking for their password for their own account, would the support list all accounts associated with that IP even if billing info was different? (credit card, etc.) Example: Person A hasn't played in ages. doesn't know their login info, calls support for password retrieval assistance. Person B has their info, and is currently in world doing their own thing on completely different billing than Person A. Can Person A find out what Person B's login info is, and retrieve that info by just sharing the same IP address alone? Will the support telephone line freely give that out despite different sign up information and billing being used? Thanks for any info

You might find this discussion helpful: https://blogs.secondlife.com/message/2763. edit: the short answer is no, it's nearly impossible to get this info from LL even if it's your account.

Thanks for the encouragement, I ask because a friend claims I logged on for 15 mins after having to go last night. when they sent me an IM. they claim I instantly went offline.
Sooo my line of thinking right now are focusing on one of the two things happening.
1. That strange bug where you dont actually get logged out and become a ghost of sorts, when someone sends an IM. the ghost disappears and goes offline correctly...
2. a family member poking around trying to retrieve their account prior a day to the incident info saw another account listed to the same ip address and decided to try to "retrieve" that password out of curiosity's sake and logged in to investigate. (paranoid on my part maybe) ;P

From: Candy Abonwood 1. That strange bug where you dont actually get logged out and become a ghost of sorts, when someone sends an IM. the ghost disappears and goes offline correctly... /me points at the more likely answer. The friends online/offline list is notorious for not being overly reliable.
