Last night I was putting together my first structure (a pre-fab cabin) on my newly purchased Land for the Landless plot, and for some reason it seems like, for no apparent reason, parts of the cabin (walls, roof, lights, etc.) Would spontaneously get taken away and dissapear, as if I had right-clicked on the object and had taken it away manually. At first I thought it was a manual error on my part, but it kept happening over and over again to me for hours last night no matter how slowly or carefully I worked. It was a bit infuriating, since stuff would dissapear after I had carefully placed it, forcing me to do it over again and again.
Does this sound like a bug to you guys, or something I'm doing wrong?

Be sure you are completely on your parcel of land. You can see parcel borders on the ground by pressing the "P" key.
It almost sounds like part of your building might be hanging over another parcel which has autodelete enabled.

I couldn't swear about all of the pieces, but I do know that my building lights (which are small) were not hanging over into another parcel and still did the dissapearing act as well.
Although, I am pretty sure my building pieces weren't hanging over into other parcels before they dissapeared...I had View Borders turned on last night. In fact, the parcels around me are still-empty Land for the Landless plots, except for one right behind me, and I actually had pieces of my house hanging into that parcel for a time while I rearranged everything and it didn't go away then....

Ahh. Good point maxx, that makes more sense than what I was thinking. It's been so long since I've run out of prims I forgot that would happen =D

From: someone Originally posted by Maxx Monde Its disconcerting when it happens, but easy to explain. The structure you are placing has too many primitives for your land to support. Don't dispair, the GNU store in Davenport can help you with very cheap and well made low-prim structures.
The effect you are witnessing is you can temporarily have something that is over the limit, but the system detects this and starts returning objects to you, hence all the disappearing shenanigans.
Hope that helps, check out the davenport store for free/low priced items. (No, I'm not affiliated.)
Have a good one. Ohhhh! That makes total sense. Now that you mention it, every time I placed a part of the structure, the part I place just before the new part would dissapear. And then when I tried to re-do that, it would keep happening over and over and over again. Argh! Looks like I'm going to have to take a trip to Davenport tonight. At least I get to go shopping! Does the shop you talk about tell you how many prims big a structure is? Sorry, me=newb Thanks for your help Maxx and Kex. It was driving me nuts!
