This has been happening more and more lately, but the issue is as follows:
After creating an object, any object, I go to apply a texture and sometimes have to wait for a full minute while the client attempts to access the texture inventory.
Anyone else have this?

Anyone else have this? It only takes me a few seconds. I think it has to be do with your machine. Are you using the texture chooser from the Edit Object window?

I never use the texture chooser anymore......for that very reason. A long time ago (I'd say a year and a half ago) I found you don't need to open the texture chooser to apply any texture in your inventory. If you want to apply the texture to all sides of your object just drag the texture from your inventory to the texture box in the main edit window. If you want to apply the texture to a single side just drag the texture from your inventory the side you want. Of course if you want the same texture on multiple sides but not all sides then you will have drag to each side separately.....but what problem is that?
I see no use for the texture picker at all.

I see no use for the texture picker at all. Well.. texter picker is nice when you want to see the texture first. I guess that's why they call it texture picker. And to the OP... yes. I have noticed this got much worse when the latest viewer was released. You should open a jira on it if there isn't already one.

Right click, open for when I want to see the texture before applying. It's faster than waiting for the texture picker to open.

I don't think it is faster... an you don't get to see the texture on the actual prim you are working with. Either way it is still something that shoud be jira-ed and not just worked around.

I get a noticeable delay when opening the texture picker as well. Maybe 10 seconds or so. Definitely disrupts the workflow. Here is a JIRA entry. Has 68 votes at the moment https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-8818
