I don't know what other forum to post in as there does not seem to be a "recommended items to do a job" forum area.

Can you get some security device for your home which perhaps once a minute, logs people who are within a certain range of your house/land.

So that when you log back into SL you can read the log of names and their distance from the tracker device.

I know you would want real time logging as that would slow things down, but perhaps once every 30 or 60 seconds it could just record who's around and their range into a log that you could later read.

Of course, if such a device also did the normal security thing (you know "You have entered a private areas and have 20 seconds to leave" kinda thing) then that would be a bonus also.

Any recomendations?

And I should add, something user friendly and menu driven front end.

Thanks.

Yes there are scripts for this in the Script Library. There are generic terms for this, but my brains dead right now, maybe search for visitor counter. These scripts are generally available and there are free versions in game.

Security scripts usually have to be bought, I've never seen a free one yet.

Thanks for that.

I don't mind "buying" something in the SL world to do the job.
In fact having a "retail" if you wish to call it that product which has updates when needed is something I like.

Perhaps it would be two seperate devices to do this job then?

do this.. under search (*in world), look up Thomas conover
teleport to his store. there's a thing he sells that will track your visitors, how long they stayed, etc.

I'd give you more information but unfortunately I cannot log in to second life (thank you evil software gods).

anything thomas conover is good stuff. I have a lot of his products and highly endorse them. No i don't work for him, i'm just a gadget whore.

A freebie visitor counter will tell you who has been there. If you want something more involved a security orb will do the trick. They can be set for so many seconds before it gives them the boot.. Conover's has some good stuff.
