Every time I log into SL my avatar stays a cloud and never loads. I try to rebake in world, and that never solves the issue. I've even taken time to wait for it to load, and it never loads. Everything else looks fine, I'm just always a cloud.

I'm actually an alt, and the other av's I play in world look just fine. They load normally.

What is wrong with this av that it won't load????

Hi,

When you run 2 or more viewers on one machine, the computer has to divide what data is for which viewer. That can last longer than you might expect it. Have you asked others how they see the avi which's a cloud for you ? Miight be you are normal to other residents but your own machine takes a bit longer to display that properly. I haven't found anything to speed that up so far.

You might assume that fine hardware like a quad-core-CPU and a GT280 or 295 graphics card and a very fast internet connection might help, but that is not. Even on ultra-hardcore machines your problem can occur.

Older topic I know, but I have this same problem. I have to relog quite a few times to fix it.
I'm using the most recent Emerald viewer, and have Windows Vista 64bit.
Can't edit appearance.
Waiting does nothing.
Rebaking does nothing.
I'm getting really annoyed...

I'd suggest turning your complete system, computer, modem, router, etc. off for a few minutes.

Do you different accounts all go to the same places in SL?

Have you tried wearing different clothes and removing all attachments?

Have you tried clearing your cache?

Have you tried deleting your settings.xml file?

Step 2 is to log back in to a sim different to the one you logged out from. Fixes it every time for me.
