I don't know if this has been answered before - but when i used the pattern for the skirt, if i use a texture - it bleeds terribly at mid thigh right in the center - i made a simple denim skirt, and it looked like i had a big triangular shaped fray in the center. I tried a number of things, but i still had the fray. Is there something special that needs to be done to make the skirt outline accept textures well? (I had the skirt set as a mini skirt)

It could be that you are wearing the skirt on one of the tighter settings and if you have muscular thighs sometimes the thighs poke through. If you love your av and don't want to trim down her legs, thenperhaps loosen the skirt a bit?
I hope this helps!

Take a look at the LL supplied template... the middle row of polygons is where all the stretch in the skirt happens. The reason is because the SL engine can't have vertices in the skirt mesh affected by the bones of more than one leg... so all the stretch of leg spread happens on that one row. The only way to compensate it to avoid having any detail in that center row of polys below the knees. If this isn't what you meant then follow Coreina's suggestion and try to adjust the skirt to a looser fit.
