Anyone else been having this problem. I get a Runtime Error and crash out everytime I try to log in. This has only been happening since the last release and was pretty stable before that. I've tried everything I can think of, update drivers, update windows, shut off any programs running, rebooting, reseting my preferences in SL and nothing seems to work. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Try to roll back on the driver. I've got a GeForce 4800TI SE and I can't login if I use the latest driver Also what you could try first is starting the game, don't login but goto preferences, uncheck the Fast Write option, try logging in. If that works you can probably enable the fast write again and log in after that without problems. But if that doesn't work, try older drivers.

I looked through our crash logs for you, and everything looks normal up until the point where we attempt to change the screen resolution. Edit your settings.ini file and add this line to the bottom:
FullScreen FALSE
This will prevent the application from attempting to switch resolutions, and hopefully stop the crashes. The base problem is probably a driver issue of some kind, but it's hard to tell.
For the 0.6.* releases, you will find the settings in the install directory eg c:/program files/secondlife/
For newer windows releases (for those of you reading this post a couple of weeks after the fact) the application settings can be found in 'documents and settings/<windows username>/application data/secondlife/user_settings'

It's been 2 weeks now since I have been able to enter Second Life for more than about 10 seconds. I still crash out with a runtime error. I have loaded and unloaded drivers, software and windows updates. Even after the latest release i still crash out.
