I set up a new account on a computer that is already accessing second life. After I set up the account, I didn't download the software because I already had it on the PC. When we log into that account we cannot access the edit appearance of that avatar because it is just a floating ghost. When we move around that is we see is the ghost image. I have no clue what to do.
Thanks, Cheryl

Try clearing the cache.
System specs might be useful.

I understand you're stuck with no appearance, and because of this the silly viewer doesn't seem to want to let you set an appearance? With the Advanced menu enabled (Ctrl+Alt+D), try Advanced > Character > Character Tests > Test Male, or Test Female It should set you up with a default appearance which should end the problem... Best wishes
