Is there any way to log off the grid without having to shut down the entire client ??
Would be nice if there is. Any debug option or command switch to do so ??

Turn off your modem until SL has lost connection.
(Mini Map shows red) when this happens.

Nope, you have to close client.
Do yourself a favour and make a new shortcuit with -login , no need to type that password again (it will fail if theres a update availible tho, so keep old)

As the programme is a OpenGL platform, loggin off without shutting down the client is of little use as you have to restart the client to regain the connection and install the Pluggins enabling Voice and Media clients.
