This is half feature request and half technical issue.
As I've said before I don't have a mouse wheel (or even a mouse -- I have a touchpad), which means that when my location and people trackers in the map get too long, I can't get to the bottom of those lists. So I had what I thought was a brilliant idea. In inventory, I created a new top level folder and named it "more landmarks". Into that folder I moved those landmarks that I didn't want to delete, but rarely use, thinking this would free up that space in the map locations pulldown so I could see all of my frequently used landmarks. Foiled again! The client is too smart for that! *All* my landmarks still appeared in the menu. The only way I could get those extra landmarks out of there was to trash them (and hope I don't forget and empty trash before I restore them).
I'm just wondering if this behavior can be rethought -- or scrollability or nested menus or something else added to those menus (like opening it and clicking T would take you to the first T entry, etc.).

I do have a mouse wheel, but those menus are way too long for me too. Takes too long to find and scroll to the landmarks I want. Subfolders for everything! I have way too many calling cards all in one folder too. Even one subfolder to move less frequently used landmarks, textures, objects, etc, to would help. Please accomodate us pack rats Kerstin

oh yeah! textures too!

I most definitely need nestability for textures. It's SUCH a pita scrolling thru all of them every time I need to pick a tex for this or that or the other thing.
Thanks for the reminder, K =)

you got your photos in my textures!

let me see if i understand this #!, you would like to click the drop down menu in the texture picker and in that drop down see a list made up of the subfolders (that you have made in your Texture folder) and then the textures that are in your base Texture folder?
that would be keen. =]
i would like to vote that the textures in the "Photo Album" folder be excluded from the texture picker drop down(or be in their own folder in the drop down). if i really want to texture something with a photo, i can always drag it onto the object. i had previously worked around the huge number of photos in my texture drop down by renaming my photo folder to "uPhoto Album" so that it was alphabetically after the "Texture" folder, and the textures i wanted would be at the top of my list. with the recent release, the textures are All alphabetized so that my photos are mixed up with my textures.

just displaying what fun it will be when us packrats get into the years in this game instead of the weeks or months. We could easily end up with way more than I got now..... Which brings me to a question....Lindens, Is there a max storage for us?

If you have a boatload of textures AND you're not as lazy as I am, you can take advantage of the fact that the texture picker organizes the list alphebetically.
So you could have all your metalic textures called METAL_[name] all your pants called PANTS_[name], etc etc. This makes it pretty easy to scroll approximately to the texture you want.
