Don't know if this has been said before, but for some reason, I can not log onto second life. I open the game, but instead of the regular log in screen, its black, theres no quit button, and my pass is gone from the box. I have uninstalled the game, reinstalled, manualy rooted out the files, cleared disk and browser cache several times and cursed at my computer. Im out of ideas, please help!

I tried doing that, and it did not work, I am using a wireless connection, if that helps.

What files did you manually root out? Did you get the settings.xml file ?

Can you try a wired connection?

I went through my program files and deleted the SL file by hand after the 2nd reinstall, and no, I cant. And if it helps, it started happening after I downloaded the most recent update.
