Using the icon that is installed to the desktop, SL repeatedly crashes. I'm not finding any tips on settings. No msg comes up saying firewall is blocking this program. I've never had any problems with IP interactions or any other internet connection dependent programs. No router. Cable internet.
Please help.
Thanks in advance

Is this a stock M5100?

The specs I'm seeing suggest that it is not.

Did you replace the motherboard?

Am I overlooking what kind of video card you have in your list of specs? - Nevermind, I've just never heard of HIS brand. It's a Radeon HD 4830

Yes, it's stock. Besides PSU and Video card.

Try this:

Right-click the shortcut to SL and select Properties. On the line that says Target, go to the end and add --noprobe to skip SL's hardware checks. If that lets you in, use the Properties menu to increase the graphics to where you want them.

Yeah, I've tried that. You responded to my other thread awhile back. I've also disabled the VBO. Not sure what to try next. I haven't seen any solutions to similar issues posted.
Thanks again.

One possible way to find out whats going on would be to go to "search" at the Windows start menu, then to enter "cmd" without the quotes there and click on the mostly black icon that appear as result then. The next step is a bit more complicated. You'd need to know the path to your SL executable. In my case, I use Snowglobe on Win7 x64, that would be:

/Program\ Files\ (x86)/Snowglobe/SnowglobeTestBuild.exe

If everything went right, SL will start to run and will output an error, hopefully something you can work with
Good luck ^_^

In the ATI Catalyst Control Center, find the option for "Advanced AI" and uncheck it.

Thank you so much Asriazh Frye!!! Logged right in first time. It seems kinda weird, that's just inputting the commands the shortcut icon should input. Anyways, it didn't output any errors, so I guess that's just the way I'll have to start the program.

Milla Janick,
In CCC, I don't have a setting called "Advanced AI". There is "Adaptive Anti-Aliasing" and it is NOT enabled. There is also "Catalyst A.I.". The box under that option, labeled "Disable Catalyst A.I." is checked. Am I missing something?

Thanks for your help guys.

"Catalyst A.I." is it, I think. Sorry, it's been forever since I used it.

Disable it and see if that helps any.

Also, check out Boy Lane's Rainbow Viewer and Cool Viewer. I find they work much better with ATI graphics adapters than other viewers.
