Just turn the "Can see your online status" off then on, and it should work, and it does after logging out too.
Dunno if it works for everyone though.
Sorry if this is the wrong area, but this is the best place I could find to put this.

Good post! I've seen this work myself. Unfortunately, we have to do this for each friend. Still, very helpful and easier than IMing them!

Well.... a friend of mine hasn't shown up online for several months now even when I'm sitting in his lap in SL lol. I can still offer to TP him and such.... but I never get notices of his coming and going, nor can I see him online.
I was wondering if this might be a hardware related issue of some kind since no one else I know seems to have run into this issue. It's not just with me that he's having this with either but everyone on his friends list cannot see him.
If anyone has any answers or directions to look in, please IM me in SL.
