I've done searches in the Forums here - and Cna not find pre-existing mention of this.

Extensive testing revealed that When Logging in - Other SL users can See and interact with to your AV typically 30 seconds PRIOR to your ability to interact with the SL Client in any way.

I hope that the problem with this is apparent. One problematic aspect being that there is no opportunity to switch to (Busy) when you have a limitted time available to accomplist a specific inworld task.

Obviously - if you are involved in SL activities involving AV interation - Jessie Competitions , Darkwood Spider hunting, Who knows what... a crash interruption or other re-log destroys the game.

If it was simply overlooked requirement that was not met - maybe considered a bug - otherwise , a feature shortfall... Regardless - there is a chance that this is easily fixable. If so - Heres hoping that it gets added to the list.:)

Partial Fix Possible...

A partial fix to this would be external access to SL IMs...

When You only have 2 mins, and the only thing you need to pass to someone inworld is information - you can avoid the announcement of your Log-in by NOT logging in... Of course - this is a very partial fix....

I am under the sneaking suspicion that the stand-alone IM client for Linden IM is actually off-the-shelf ...

Any Joy here? If so - what are the steps to make this possible ?
