White washed-out screen

When I leave my computer for a few minutes, the XP system requires me to sign in again. When I do so, the Second Life client shows the scene I left, only washed out and mostly white. Is there a way to reset it other than killing the client and starting over?

Disable your screensaver asking for login password when it goes into screensaver mode.

Yep... that happened to me too. It is definitely related to the screensaver mode.

If you are using and LCD monitor you don't need a screensaver to come up. LCD's don't burn in like CRT's or plasmas.

Burn in on lcd's dont stay permanent, but they can get "burned" wich will disappear over time as long as it changes now and then, experienced it with one game that had a bright orange on gui and screen pretty much stayed the same spot for many many hours 70+, after alot of hours it stayed on screen as a image , easy to fix tho just dont have it on all the time.

CTR/Plasma's however its permanent, lcd crystals wich changes fades it out over time, can be from a hour to 3 days in some cases tho.
